What counts as a modded Rust server?

Any server that changes the rules: gather rates above 1x, kits, shops, teleports, custom loot or whole game modes. Facepunch expects servers that alter gameplay to sit in the Modded tab, so a raised rate outside it breaks the rules. Plugins that only touch admin tools or chat do not make a server modded.

How do I choose a modded server to go deep on?

Start from the rate you actually want, then check the Group column and the Next wipe estimate before you join. A server's own page has its player count over time, its wipe history and its performance, which tells you more than any top ten. If it holds a steady pop mid-wipe, it will still be there in a fortnight.

Do modded servers wipe blueprints as well as the map?

The map wipes for every server on the first Thursday of the month, but blueprints are each owner's choice. Some wipe them with the map, some keep them for months. The server's own page and its description are where to check before you invest a wipe in it.

Can I join a modded server with the normal game?

Yes. Mods run on the server, so you join with your usual Rust install and download nothing. Facepunch allows rate and gameplay changes as long as the server lists itself in the Modded tab, which is where this page gets its data.
